Don’t fight self-harm on your own.
Do you know the feeling of:
- not having a clue what to do
- being afraid of doing the wrong thing
- feeling shame, guilt, doubt and powerlessness
- not understanding why it all happens
- feeling alone
You are not alone. There are others who feel the same way – and there IS someone who can help you.
Self-harm counselling is for both self-harmers and their families.
It is a place where strong emotions can be discussed and shaped into the strength and knowledge needed to support and help you.
And where, as a self-harmer, you can build up courage, hope and a new sense of connection to yourself and the world around you.
In addition to working with direct self-harm, such as cutting, I also work with indirect self-harm such as eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder (BED) and digital self-harm.
For those who struggle with self-harm
Self-harm counselling will teach you what self-harm is, and you will learn how to deal with your self-harming behaviour and understand that you are not alone having the feelings you have.
No matter how you hurt yourself, you’ll get tools to face the world without the need for self-harm and the courage and desire to live your life without its protection.
For relatives or friends of a self-harmer
You will get to understand the reasons for the self-harm and learn how to deal with both the self-harm and your own complex and often difficult feelings.
Equally important you will also get advice on how to deal with the difficult emotions that come with having a self-harmer close to you, as well as tools to help and support them. Furthermore you will learn what it is like to be a self-harmer and understand the importance of your own role.
I also offer advice to other professionals
Many professionals have limited experience of self-harming behaviour, and very few people have personal experience of it.
I combine professional insight with personal experience in a unique offer to other professionals.
All my counselling is tailored to the individual situation, and the tools you get are based on your specific needs.
